Two credential evaluators from the ArmENIC participated in the training on the EQPR methodology held in Strasbourg by the Council of Europe from 20 to 22 February 2024. It is the second time that the training is organized in a new format.
Implemented by the Council of Europe since 2017 The European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR) helps refugees rebuild their lives in their host countries by giving them the opportunity to have their qualifications assessed even in the absence of full documentation (https://www.coe.int/en/web/education/recognition-of-refugees-qualifications). The EQPR methodology is based on a self-assessment questionnaire completed by the refugee and a structured interview. The interview is conducted by two credential evaluators from different national information centers on recognition.
The EQPR methodology training consists of 5 modules. According to the new format, the first 3 modules are conducted online while the 4th and 5th modules are conducted face-to-face in Strasbourg.
Thus, 36 credential evaluators from 10 national recognition centers partners in EQPR, completed the training from 20 to 22 February 2024. They also had the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge gained by conducting online assessments of refugees’ qualifications. As a result, the qualifications of 18 refugees from Ukraine, Nigeria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Syria, Congo and Guinea were assessed.
