On 7 October 2026, the fifth meeting of the Bologna Follow-up Group Thematic Peer Group B (TPG B) on Key Commitment 2: National legislation and procedures compliant with the Lisbon Recognition Convention (LRC) was held online, with the participation of ArmENIC.
The meeting focused on the recognition of qualifications obtained through transnational education (TNE) and provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss recent developments in this area. Particular attention was given to the Code of Good Practice in the Provision of Transnational Education, adopted by the Lisbon Recognition Convention Committee in October 2025.
Participants discussed evidence and national practices related to TNE, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with the recognition of qualifications awarded through transnational education arrangements. The discussions also considered approaches to TNE in the context of the Bologna Key Commitments and the implementation of the Lisbon Recognition Convention.
As Armenia’s national information centre for academic recognition and mobility, ArmENIC continues to contribute to European-level discussions and initiatives aimed at strengthening fair, transparent and effective recognition practices, supporting the implementation of the Lisbon Recognition Convention and the Bologna commitments.
The meeting concluded with updates on the TPG-LRC Plus project and its upcoming publication on transnational education, as well as further discussion on strengthening the implementation of the Lisbon Recognition Convention across the European Higher Education Area.
