ArmENIC took part in the high-level international event on “Supporting refugees’ participation in higher education and labour market – European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR) as an international instrument to address national challenges”, held on 28 April 2026 in Chișinău. The event was organized by the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova under the Moldovan Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
The event brought together over 100 participants from public authorities, higher education institutions, ENIC-NARIC centers and international organizations to address challenges related to the fair recognition of refugees’ qualifications, particularly in cases of incomplete or missing documentation.
During the event, a round table discussion focused on the impact of fair recognition practices. Participants also took part in a training session on the EQPR methodology, which offered practical guidance on evaluating qualifications in cases where documentation is limited or incomplete.
Following the conference, the initiative moved directly into its operational phase on 29–30 April. Two credential evaluators from ArmENIC, together with experts from Georgia, Italy, Latvia, and Poland, were involved in assessing refugees’ qualifications. In total, 29 candidates had their qualifications assessed, facilitating their access to further studies and employment opportunities.
ArmENIC’s participation highlights its active role within the ENIC-NARIC network and its continued commitment to supporting transparent and fair recognition practices for refugees across Europe.
