On 23 October 2026, ArmENIC hosted an international peer review site visit in Yerevan as part of its institutional self-evaluation under the TST3.0 – Supporting the ENIC-NARIC Networks project.
The TST3 project, coordinated by ENIC-NARIC Italy (CIMEA) in cooperation with ENIC-NARIC Netherlands (Nuffic), supports the development and strengthening of the ENIC-NARIC Networks. One of its key activities is the organisation of self-evaluations and international peer reviews of participating recognition centres to promote quality, transparency and the exchange of good practices.
As one of the participating centres in the 2026 peer review round, ArmENIC conducted a comprehensive self-evaluation of its recognition procedures and institutional practices, assessing their alignment with the Lisbon Recognition Convention and the six Standards and Guidelines developed for the ENIC-NARIC Networks.
The peer review visit brought together an international panel comprising Baiba Ramina (Chairperson of the Academic Information Centre, Latvia), Argiro-Eirini Efthymiadou (Head of the Directorate of Information at D.O.A.T.A.P., Greece), and Grisha Gasparyan (Deputy Head of the Office of International Cooperation, Yerevan State University, Armenia).
During the visit, the panel met with ArmENIC’s director Gayane Harutyunyan and staff to discuss the findings of the self-evaluation, examine existing recognition practices, and identify opportunities for further institutional development. Particular attention was given to internal quality assurance, transparency, applicant-centred services, and the digitalisation of recognition procedures.
The self-evaluation and peer review process provides ArmENIC with an important opportunity to assess its achievements, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen its institutional capacity in accordance with European and international good practices. The process is particularly significant in the context of Armenia’s ongoing higher education reforms.
Through its participation in the TST3 project, ArmENIC reaffirms its commitment to fair, transparent, consistent and reliable academic recognition, while contributing to quality enhancement and mutual trust within the ENIC-NARIC Networks.
