On 15 December 2025, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) hosted a specialized workshop on Blockchain Technology and Infrastructure for Granting Digital Credentials as part of the Erasmus+ Micro-GEAR project – Micro-credentials for Higher Education systems of Georgia and Armenia, a South Caucasus Lighthouse initiative. Representatives of the ArmENIC, a partner in the project, also took part in the workshop, contributing to discussions on future collaboration and next steps in digital credentialing.
The workshop featured presentations by UC3M and UER on the legal aspects of reliability, governance and protection of rights of blockchain-based credentials, followed by hands-on training by CIMEA on the DiploMe CHAIN platform, a blockchain solution for issuing digital Statements of Comparability and Verification. The training was conducted in two dedicated sessions, enabling in-depth discussion and practical understanding of the platform.
The workshop concluded with a collaborative discussion outlining the project’s future steps.
