The study conducted by ArmENIC was presented at the TAICEP Annual Conference

Director of the National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility G. Harutyunyan and higher education expert A. Hovhannisyan attended the 8th Annual Conference of the Association of International Credential Evaluation Professionals (TAICEP) in Glasgow, Scotland, October 17-20.

This was the first participation of ArmENIC in the prestigious TAICEP conference, and it is noteworthy that, participating for the first time, representatives of ArmENIC were invited as speakers.

During the conference, G. Harutyunyan and A. Hovhannisyan presented the results of the study on the “Developments and detection of educational fraud in the Republic of Armenia: Risks and Responses in the COVID-19 Age” conducted in 2021 with the support of the Council of Europe.

The study was conducted between May and December 2021. Extensive questionnaires were developed for representatives and students of higher educational institutions of Armenia. In addition to the experts of ArmENIC, an international expert was also involved in the study.

The main objective of the study is to present the impact of COVID-19 on various forms of fraud and corruption in the field of education in Armenia. The study also presents initiatives aimed at combating educational fraud in Europe, as well as the students’ perspective.

The study also included developments related to the institutions providing international education in the Republic of Armenia from 2017 to 2021, and parallels were drawn with the study conducted by ArmENIC in 2017. Based on the results of the study, the authors also made recommendations.
